The Perfumers’ Tree
This time, the perfumer Quentin Bisch has chosen blossoming Bitter Orange to be the main theme of Néroli Amara. Nicknamed the “perfumers tree”, Bitter Orange brings to life several essential ingredients in the olfactory palette: Neroli, obtained by the steam distillation of white petals, Orange Blossom Absolute, which requires the solvent extraction of the flowers, Petit-grain obtained from the leaves and cold pressed Orange Peel Essence. These ingredients have never ceased to inspire the creators of High Perfumery. Neroli is indeed named after Anne-Marie Orsini, Duchess of Bracciano in the 17th century, known as Princess of Nerola, a town near Rome. Totally in love with the perfume of Amara Orange Blossom (Bitter Orange), she began using it to perfume her gloves and her bath.
A breath of fresh flowers and a hint of Citrus
In spring, in the Mediterranean region, an emblematic fragrance perfumes both streets and fields. A subtle and delicate aerial scent is embedded both in your clothes and your memory. Inspired by the delicious scent of lemon and bitter orange flowers, perfumer Quentin Bisch pays homage to a dream-like vision of Neroli. A cloud of weightless petals, as refreshing as a bowl of citrus fruit, enveloping you like a breath of warm air, with the opulence of a flower blooming in the sun. A composition rich in contrast that uses a surprising alchemy. Quentin Bisch explains: "For this creation, I tried to intensify all the emblematic facets that make Neroli so exceptional. Thats why I combined Orange Blossom Absolute with a trio of citrus fruit - Lemon from Italy, Tangerine and Bergamot. The quality of the new integral bergamot essential oil (exclusively available at Givaudan) used for the fragrance, allowed me to create floral, zesty and aromatic accents." On the skin, Néroli Amara seems to have the flourish of a Cologne at first, refreshed by Pink Berries and Cypress accents. It then reveals its true nature, tumbling into floral voluptuousness. The dream comes true when the trail envelops us with subtle wisps of fragrance evoking the Mediterranean.
